Ace the 18B Mortar & 81mm Challenge 2026 – Fire Up Your Skills!

Training with "dummy rounds" is particularly beneficial for mortar crews as it increases familiarity with the equipment and procedures without the associated risks of using live ammunition. Dummy rounds closely mimic the weight, handling, and characteristics of live rounds, allowing the crew to practice loading and firing sequences, as well as understanding the operational dynamics of the mortar system. This practice helps to build confidence and proficiency among crew members in a controlled and safe environment.

Engaging with dummy rounds also allows teams to refine their communication, coordination, and timing during operations, preparing them for real-life scenarios where these skills are crucial for success and safety. This aspect is especially vital in high-pressure situations where precision and teamwork are essential.

The other benefits noted, while important, reflect secondary advantages. For instance, while dummy rounds contribute to safety and test equipment, their primary importance lies in the safe simulation of live-fire conditions and the opportunity to practice techniques without the potential for accidents.
